I am combining two days of blogs into one to feature two books in a series called, Multiplying Menace.
The Multiplying Menace series, written by Pam Calvert, is currently two books. The first book, Multiplying Menace: The Revenge of Rumpelstiltskin (A Math Adventure), is about the legendary Rumpelstiltskin and his evil plan to use his multiplying stick to ruin the kingdom unless he is repaid for all the gold he spun those many years ago. It is up to Peter Prince, the queen’s 10-year-old son, to save the kingdom from being multiplied out of control!
The second book, The Multiplying Menace Divides (A Math Adventure), revives the fairy tale from Calvert’s first book. Peter Prince and his dog, Zero, try and save the kingdom once again from the evil Rumpelstiltskin and his multiplying stick. In this book, instead of multiplying, Rumpelstiltskin tries to divide the kingdom into frogs!
These picture books use a terrific combination of classic children literature and math education! Elementary students will love the story-telling in each book in addition to the beautiful illustrations by Wayne Greehan, who illustrated the Sir Cumference book series.
